Dr. Ervin is a Florence native and graduate of McClenaghan High School. He then went on to the University of South Carolina and subsequently to the Medical University in Charleston where he completed medical school and a residence in Otolaryngology, head and neck surgery with a special emphasis on facial plastic surgery. He began his medical and surgical practice in Myrtle Beach where for the first ten years he and his partners were the only facial plastic surgeons in the area.
Dr. Ervin and his family returned to Florence in 1997 where he resumed head and neck surgery practice with increasing emphasis on skin care and rejuvenation. He has had extensive experience with Botox over the past several years. Before beginning injections, he attended a course in Vancouver British Columbia offered by the Carruthers, who were among the first physicians to study and utilize Botox. He also works with a variety of fillers, such as Radiesse, Juvederm, Restylane and personally performs all injections.
He has been working with an array of lasers since the early 80's and is a member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. Laser assisted liposuction for facial and body sculpting was added to the practice last year and a number of cases have been performed with extraordinary results. Fraxel laser resurfacing has been available for a number of years and it remains a valuable tool in skin rejuvenation. In addition to the lasers and pulsed light systems, we have also begun to utilize a variety of chemical peels which can perform many of the same functions as the lasers with somewhat less cost and risk.
Dr. Ervin continues to see patients for outpatient ear, nose and throat problems, as well as diagnosis treatment and removal, as needed, of minor skin lesions.
Dr. Ervin lives in Florence along with his wife, Anne Blackwell Ervin and their two children, Hayden and Helen Anne.
